As I sit here at 5:12am in Los Angeles....because it is clearly 1:12pm in Lagos State, Nigeria and my body has not adjusted...can only write and look at this picture with all smiles...If you have not ventured out of the country...my suggestion is to visit the beautiful Motherland Africa...words cannot express the tremendous and profound affect visiting this place has had my renewed vision and energy. Mr. Idahosa Linus, the MAN with a great vision and Del-York Creative Film Academy is doing AWESOME things for the entrainment industry in "Nollywood", but the interaction with some of the finest Industry Professionals is what really made this journey worth IT!!! The work has just begun and there is many more things to accomplish with this chapter in my life...but rest assure this was the best way to end my summer!!! Thanks to all my colleagues in this picture (L-R) Ryan Gibson, Screenwriter....Wendy Slipakoff, Set and Costume Design...Grant Housley, Directing...Evon Barros, Editing....and Sarah "PeeWee" Rabuse, MUA.... "WE WENT TO AFRICA....DOG!!!!"

Let me say it again he is the MAN...a Dreamer making opportunities for his people "Nollywood is going to change because of Mr. Linus and his choices"...he's the "Jamal Speakes" of Nigeria!! And let me tell you...rolling with him...is like rolling with the President!!! 7/25/2014 Nigerian STRENGTH!!!!!Take a good look at this picture and it is worth more than a MILLION words!!! After a week in the great State of Lagos....I can honestly say that I have seen everything....commerce at its' best, but this picture of "OUR AUNTIES" speaks to the STRENGTH of the Nigerian people....there is a grand hustle and bustle, but in this organized chaos, there are still rules and respect...I call this picture....."STRENGTH"....Nigerian people are a strong people and there is pretty much nothing that they cannot do....you must come and see what I am talking about...words will not serve the heartbeat of this state...Summertimes in this great country are a pretty good option!!!

5/30/2013 It Is FINISHED!!!!! We read Matthew 28:18-20 all the time....but there is a question you must ask yourself....do you really understand the meaning of what Jesus was saying to his disciplos (spanish for "disciples") when He charges them with the Great Commission of going into all the world and making disciples of all nations?....Well I can truly tell you that this team of 11 disciplos, how fitting, understand this as we have completed our work here in Canoas Puente Mizata EL Salvador....the week was filled with joy and tears and some mucho caliente!!!! weather....hearing the stories from the people in the village and seeing their simple life....we can do one of two things....go back home and land right back in the place where we left or we can see "el mundo" in a whole different perspective...we understand what the simplest thing called "agua viva" means to people who do not have it....one cannot forget it is the little things that can make a person happy....there are so many stories to share and tell and our hope is to tell the many personal stories of "going into all nations and making disciplios" and we can truly tell our family back in Los Angeles this is something JESUS WOULD DEFINITELY DO!!!!! 5/29/2013 LIVING WATER!!!!!!This is the reason why we have come to Puente Canoas!!!!! This week has been amazing....Joe Gitto with the help of Jamal has found the router and we are able to get this to you....but those who have been waiting for an update....this is exactly what type of gratitude one should have in a ...THIRD WORLD COUNTRY....and as Tori would say...."YEA JACK!!!!".....Chandra has found "scrambled eggs" in the middle of the road....Lexy is still from Van Nuys (LOL)....Sgt Sommerfeld...has not let us sleep!!!! Eduardo is still "long live the Queen"....nobody knows where Juan is....Nick has become even more nicer with his frisbee playing....Sarita (Sharar for you English speakers) can't seem to put the phone down LOL!!!!!.....Ryan can play futbol in English and Spanish (Mike and Kim I think you guys are possessed with animal genes cuz this guys is a BEAST!!!) We laid the concrete and put the plaque in and tomorrow is the dedication ceremony and we are going give them a little AMS play...sorry Paul and Kimba....I'm in control of this one....but there are a lot of stories and you can only sit us down and take us out to eat and pay for our meal and we will share them with you!!!!!! Til next time!!!!! Hasta Luego....oh....p.s....our spanish is off the charts!!!! Imagine Joe Gitto speaking spanish!!!!!! 5/27/2013 Canoas has WATER!!!!!!!MAN WHERE DO I BEGIN.......H20!!!!!! Let's see....we arrived in Canoas Mizata looking for water....Joe Gitto was asking for a router....Lexy is still from VAN NUYS!!!!....Tori was looking like WWE Wrestler and that you shouldn't jump off a 3 story building with an umbrella...Ryan's tummy was hurting..Chandra was too concerned with boogers.(but she was awesome)...Nick is the nicest dude in EL Salvador....Nelson "Baby Face" Pimentel was the Lead Driller....Liz and Norma lead the hygiene team and today was AWESOME....the pic to the left is what happens when you find water on the first day....it gets kinda muddy....and by the way where is Juan?????? (this dude will just take off barefooted in the village speaking "we should live on the land" in Espanol!!!! And Angel is a great driver!!!!!! We spent the whole day in the village of Canoas, with all the wonderful people they made arroz con pollo(chicken and rice for your english speakers), but the love of God was all up and down muddy path...we were the talk of the village and when I say these kids walk to school.....I mean they walk to school....check out my Facebook page with this link below under the EL Salvador Album page.....but all in all today was a great start to our week......til next time....the work is just getting started..... |
